Reflections on Mickey Mouse

To celebrate Mickey’s 90th birthday Disney global organized the #Mickey90 celebration. In Holland Disney NL, together with MOAM Amsterdam, commissioned 10 Dutch artists to create a stunning art piece for this occasion.

After 90 years of Mickey Mouse I wanted to take the chance to reflect on Mickey Mouse, to reflect on who he was, who he is and what he has become today. After 90 years he is so much more than just this happy character. He is loved by many generations but also became the most famous icon for the entertainment industry. 

For this artwork I tapped into the time in which Mickey was made. I used clean lines, industrial grey tones and little color.
